CSCS Cards & the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test explained

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is the leading UK card scheme for the construction industry. Most main contractors and construction sites require every worker to hold a valid CSCS Card proving they have the training and qualifications for the job they do on site. To apply for almost any CSCS Card you must first pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Test - sometimes called the CITB touch screen test, CITB HS&E test or CITB exam.

To apply for a CSCS Card you must (1) hold the correct qualification for your role, (2) pass the correct CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test within the last two years, and (3) submit a CSCS Card applicationwith supporting evidence.
